Europart “elated” to land exclusive distribution deal of Ametek’s latest design innovations.

Keeping ahead of the curve when it comes to motor technology is a major challenge. Whilst not actually re-inventing the wheel, the main obstacle for motor manufacturers is to offer the consumer something different in a marketplace already more than happy with pre-existing design specifications.

Europart is therefore delighted to be a position to announce that it has been appointed the UK’s exclusive distributor for Ametek’s new range of 8.4” and 6.6” air-driven motors.

Initially, says William Maddocks (National Sales Manager), “the prospect of selling and convincing customers to switch to new technology, unlike anything previously seen on the market was daunting.” Then Europart saw the benefits they were going to deliver…

The new range boasts major innovations in carbon brush design, seeking to offer the customer longer motor life time – anything up to 1500 hours. The new motors are super-efficient, with less loss of energy by using a higher percentage of electrical power that turns into air power. Importantly also, in the age of ‘green’ thinking it’s worth mentioning that Ametek have made the motors cleaner and quieter. A foam chamber placed around the top of the motor to catch any carbon dust emitted from the brushes, with a revised design of the cooling fan reducing operating noise considerably.

When fully presented with the technological innovations of this range, Europart’s mood changed. “We’re elated” says Philip Evans (New Accounts Manager). “Here we have something tangibly different we can show to new customers that offers them the edge over the competition in terms of performance and durability.”

Of course, Philip and the team at Europart know it’s not totally ‘out with the old and in with the new’. “Right now, we need to show customers who have new design applications for vacuum cleaners, floor polishers and air driven systems that they will benefit by incorporating Ametek’s innovations into their designs, however what’s already out on the market still needs our full support and attention.”

Since January of this year Europart’s range of ‘off the shelf’ stock holding for existing Ametek products has doubled. It’s all about service, William Maddocks believes; “if we can offer the customer a swift, price-conscious dedicated service then we’re happy. Keeping machines with the UK floor care industry running as long as they can is at the heart of what we do. Right now, we’re really focused on ensuring that.”
