Europart’s Ametek Carbon Brushes are all made with the grade of carbon that was originally specified by the original manufacturer for the particular application. Why is the grade important? Because the grade chosen is dictated by the speed of the motor; e.g. high speed motors on up-market machines are usually a higher grade.
Nearly all our brushes are laminated. (Some of our competitors are still using block carbon). Why is the lamination important? Because it actually disperses the heat which is created by motor operation, thus preventing arcing and early burn-out.
Our brush holders are always made from flame-retardant plastic. Even if overheating occurs when one of our brushes has been fitted, fire risk is minimised.
