full description : Universal 3 Sided Oven Door Gasket Seal Kit pack quantity : 1 Kit fitting : Universal other information This universal kit contains a universal silicone gasket, so can be used as an ideal substitute for 3-sided ("goalpost type") oven door seal replacements. The kit supplied includes fixing pins and full fitting instructions. Removal of the Old Seal The silicone rubber in the old gasket was crimped into a stainless steel retainer. The gasket was then fixed to the stove by means of a number of small spring clips or pop rivets. Remove the old gasket by disengaging the small spring clips or drilling out the pop rivets Stick masking tape over the point of intersection of the existing vertical and horizontal holes Mark the point of the intersection of these holes on the masking tape Use a centre punch or similar tool to define the actual hole positions as marked on the masking tape CAUTION: Tap centre punch lightly to prevent unnecessary damage to the enamel Drill 2mm pilot holes before drilling to a final size of 4mm Remove the masking tape Fitting the New Seal Measure the distance between the hole centre (mm) The length of the top, bottom and sides of the seal must be cut in accordance with the following to allow for stretching: A - Distance between holes B - Sides to be shortened by A / B 250-350 / 20mm 351-400 / 25mm 401-450 / 30mm 451-500 / 35mm 501-550 / 40mm 551-600 / 45mm 601-650 / 50mm 650-700 / 55mm Top and bottom corners must be trimmed to a 45 angle Insert the barbed corner hooks into the slot of the seal, the hooks must face towards the oven Stretch and clip the seal into the holes A universal 4 sided kit is also available : please see below.
